Skagen is the northernmost point of Denmark, where the Baltic and North Seas meet. The two opposing tides in this place can not merge because they have different densities.

Ugh, that’s so sad.  Why can’t seas just get over their differences?  I’m sick of everything I read in the news about seas always running up against each other, one crashing over the other and vice versa, all because they can’t agree on a simple thing like “density”.  Does anyone even know how long this has been going on for? What kind of chance do the rest of us have, if the seas can’t even reconcile?  I mean, the world is 75% water!  Is anyone even aware of how much this issue pervades our daily lives? It’s appalling to me that Denmark hasn’t stepped in by now.  I mean I know the popular position to take is in support of the Baltic, but really more people should take into account the long geographical history that has forced the North to be in this kind of position.

I’m not asking anyone to take sides, I’m asking people to take a stand.        Skagen 2012
