I had an interview for my field placement/internship for the fall.  I dressed up, printed out my resume, and even broke out the nice leather(ish) folio that my undergrad gave me upon graduation.  I was at the agreed upon meeting spot 15 minutes early. 

And the pastor interviewing me showed up in a windbreaker and jeans.  Which is certainly her prerogative, given that she is the experienced and fully employed one at the meeting. 

I just felt extremely over-dressed.  I kept the folio in my bag, because it suddenly felt pretentious…because it kind of is.  And she didn’t even ask for my resume until I told her I brought a copy.  I was so well prepared, but she was so chill.  I’m still not quite sure if it went brilliantly or horribly.

I have a friend who works at the gym on campus.  I would go, but we’re still at the early phases of our friendship, and I’m not prepared to look like an idiot in front of him.  Which, in a very ‘Miranda’-like fashion, that would be exactly what would happen. I tell everyone that it’s because I can’t afford the fees.
