I’m gonna be the kind of woman who, you know, the kind of woman who just leaps out of bed, and just does that *shakes head* and her hair looks perfect. They then grab a home made muffin out of there kath kits and pokadot biscuit tin, and then heads to work, wearing trainers at the bottom of her skirt suit to show off they’ve power walked in. They have a pot plants that don’t die on them, their fruit bowl isn’t full of 3 week old rotting pears because they actually EAT the fruit. They have day bags, evening bags and a clutch. You know, they just grab a wheat germ smoothie in between work because that’s enough to keep them going, even though at lunch time they jogged, AND enjoyed it, because they don’t have flesh that moves independently to their main frame. And finally, they have easy access to pens, to finish a cross word at a bar where the man they decided take is a lover from the night before who says to them “hey, last night was great!

We decided to put Benedict’s stunt double’s wig on Martin. We put Sherlock’s coat on him and stood him on a make-up chair so he would look tall, and took the photo from low down. When Benedict came in we got the make-up assistant to ask him to autograph the photograph. She handed it over - and this is how Benedict’s mind works - he went, “I don’t remember wearing my coat with that colour scarf.

Lara Pulver - Irene Adler, Sherlock (RadioTimes interview)

I don’t even watch the show, but this caused a giggle to escape in the middle of class.

Why did I love this scene, despite the fact that it was awfully timed (right after their awful and serious dispute) and it centered around Arwen. Aside from the fact that I’m a bloody masochist and I enjoy seeing angry!Merlin, I loved the mood of this scene. Because most of times when there are feelings concerned (just see the greater part of this very episode), it’s Merlin who tries to make Arthur open up, who most of the time pushed him away and closes himself off. And THIS scene, Arthur just starts talking by himself, pouring his heart out, and admitting that he doesn’t know what to do. And honestly asking for Merlin’s opinion. We know he values Merlin’s friendship more than he lets on, but it is very rare to see him come undone by his own volition. And what made this scene heartbreaking is that this time Merlin is the one who closes off, he doesn’t crawl back to Arthur like usually does after he finally deigns to treat him as the friend he is. All the “my lord”, and “sire”, and the respectful way he talks - he is pissed at Arthur for doubting him again and not letting it go this time. Even when Arthur says thank you, which is another rare thing, Merlin doesn’t really savor it.

I don’t want to go into whether Merlin is justified in this scene or in this episode. Why I enjoyed it was that it showed a completely different side and dynamic to their relationship - Arthur reaching out to Merlin and Merlin not throwing himself at Arthur’s feet. The tension has been slowly building between them all season, and it really feels like it finally reached a tipping point, and I can only hope the fall and the climb back will be worthy enough of the complexity of this relationship.

This is beautiful.

Every week.  Every week, and I still can’t believe the physical response that is induced in me during and after every episode of Merlin.  Tonight, after I watched the promo for next week’s episode, I literally stopped breathing. Seriously, I held my breath in excitement for at least a good 20 seconds.  I tensed up into a ball, closed my eyes and stopped breathing.  It was completely ridiculous.  If I’m going to react so strongly to this show, it’s probably a good thing I watch it alone.
