This Side of Heaven

This is it

I think there are two kinds of people in this world:

  1. The sort of people who talk too loud on the phone, and when their neighbors confront them about the noise, they say: “Hey, I live here too, get used to it.  Now bugger off, I’m talking here!”
  2. The sort of people who talk too loud on the phone, and when their neighbors confront them about the noise, they say: “OH GOD I’M SO SORRY.  THAT IS SO EMBARRASSING, AND IT’S SO LATE I FEEL LIKE A TERRIBLE PERSON FOR KEEPING YOU AWAKE PLEASE FORGIVE ME IT WILL NEVER HAPPEN AGAIN!”  And they then spend the rest of the night horrified that their neighbor could hear every word.  Then they go to sleep wishing to die from embarrassment, and hope that their neighbor will never speak out if again.  They also lie awake in a new-found paranoia about how thin the walls actually are, and what other conversations/noises their neighbor has been audience to up until this point.
