It's 2:48 am, I have class in the morning, and I...
That’s not why I’m awake, but you know how those sorts of things creep into your mind late at night and they won’t go away. So here it is:
I’m a fairly content person. I think most my friend’s would describe me as easy-going, if not laid back. Or as laid back as someone can be who doesn’t wear flip-flops 24/7. And despite a lot I’ve felt pretty...

#Jean Dujardin winning me over
Let him, Darlene. LET HIM. —this is also the best thing I’ve seen today.

Sometimes I imagine this conversation happening:
God: Ask me one question.
Me: Okay...out of all the great thinkers, out of all the theologians, philosophers, and spiritual gurus...who had it right? Or at least, who had it the MOST right?
God: Right about what?
Me: Well....YOU, I suppose. You, religion, and all of that stuff everyone argues about. Was it Luther? A Pope? Ghandi? Hubbard? Who was it? They all held different positions, but which one was the closest to actually getting it right?
God: Hmmm....well, if I had to pick someone, I suppose....them.
Me: Who?
God: Them. That person.
Me: What person? Where?
God: THAT person, there.
Me: I - I don't see where -
God: I'm pointing RIGHT AT them....THERE!
Me: Oh, that person?
God: Yup.
Me: Ohhh......who is that? They don't look familiar.
God: Oh don't worry, you wouldn't know them. They never really wrote much on the subject.
Me: Yeah, but WHO are they?
God: Well, in relation to you...they're not really anybody of consequence. I created them, they have their life, and they're the answer to your question.
Me: But....but...what did they do?
God: Oh, lots of things. But not anything like I'm sure you're thinking of. They never wrote a great treatise or tome, or converted any masses, or inspired any movements of any particular kind. The only people they really influenced to any degree were the people who happened to pass in or out of their life. And the only followers they had were the friends and family who where with them all along. But, of course, they followed their friends and family in turn as well. No...compared to the great figures of history you are thinking of, I'm sure this person would appear quite small and insignificant.
Me: But they came the closest to getting it right?
God: Yup, I'd say so.
Me: ...that's...
God: Disappointing?
Me: Surprising.
God: Meh.

I found out today that one of my professors is Meg...
Well, she’s not actually Meg Ryan, but if I had to describe her to you I would definitely just say, “Meg Ryan”. Specifically she is Meg Ryan in the late 1990’s-early 2000’s.
Just imagine Meg Ryan teaching about ancient texts in a crowded classroom. Except the professor had ear surgery a few months ago, so imagine Meg Ryan with a slight hearing impediment as well,...

I think there are two kinds of people in this...
The sort of people who talk too loud on the phone, and when their neighbors confront them about the noise, they say: “Hey, I live here too, get used to it. Now bugger off, I’m talking here!”
The sort of people who talk too loud on the phone, and when their neighbors confront them about the noise, they say: “OH GOD I’M SO SORRY. THAT IS SO EMBARRASSING, AND...
